This is large fruiting fig that can grow up to 85 feet tall. In ancient times it was the primary source of edible figs in the Middle East. It is also the fig species mentioned in the Bible (seven times in the Old Testament and once in the New Testament). It is not readily available in the US. Ours come from a specimen with the characteristic rough leaves. We offer well established starter gallon plants suitable for transplanting in 5 gallon pots. This species will only tolerate mild overnight frost.
