This miniature relative of the classic hibiscus of the nursery trade is known in Hawaii as 'Ilima ku kahakai'. A feature are the bright sulfur yellow flowers that can be produced year round under warm conditions. It does best in a well drained soil and with some ventilation. It is not frost tolerant but has done well in moderate weather areas of Southern California.  An interesting candidate as an indoor plant by a sunny window.
